✅ Asennus
✅ Secure boot
✅ Steam
✅ Hades 2 toimi

Eli joku peli saatiin eilen toimimaan.

The snappiness of the #CachyOS scheduling patches for the #linux kernel are really unbeaten: I can compile the world set on my #gentoo system while running the #silent power governor and while I do that I can work as normal without even noticing any system load (although it's something like ~25). This feels like true computing magic, but is really, really smart software #engineering!

I remember getting a mod for #Persona3Reload to remove lines on character faces but I wanted to try it without any mods on #Linux.

First impressions: So Much Stutter!

Then I remembered the game had shader compilation stutter but it seemed to be more than just that. Found an article on the @gamingonlinux website from two years ago about a Proton Hotfix for the game. I’ve never used different Proton versions before, but switching from the default #CachyOS version to the Hotfix seemed to make the game run much smoother!

Bazzite being created by a Microsoft Community Engineer feels funky to me. I use it and like it, but with similar experiences in Nobara and Cachy, I'm wondering if my questioning intent is reasonable here. #bazzite #microsoft #nobara #cachyos #linux

LOL, I just wanted to update my daughter's #CachyOS, but she had already done it herself.

She said that she opened the terminal and found the sudo pacman -Syu command by using the arrow keys.

Which she has seen during the installation of her new AMD gaming box.

Quite impressive for a 10-year-old.

my friend asked why I haven't tried CachyOS. My answer is that every time I've tried Arch my install gets borked randomly within a few months. He (an arch user) says fixing it is half the fun.

I think we have different ideas of fun in our middle age.

I'll stick with Fedora :D

(no shade on Arch users, I get why he likes it.)

Haha, gotta love the daily updates on a Arch-distro. My record so far: 209 updates :)

I have still to experience it to be a problem.

I'm now properly read up and am ditching #omarchy linux as I don't do fascist. Sorry it took that long, it's quite the chain of bullshit. As I have half a dozen machines to rebuild can anyone tell me if #CachyOS is ethical?

As for every other application I need, Bottles has worked really well although it's not the most user friendly upon first glance. The "Apps" part of the page shows install buttons for each bottle, but it doesn't install them. It just links to the "Installers" documentation. I had to create a Bottle sandbox inside the Bottles application, then click install program where I could view the library of applications.

However, after figuring that out, I installed Qobuz and Roon. Two applications that don't have native Linux support but ended up working perfectly through Bottles. CachyOS comes with UFW enabled by default with some preset rules. I had to add a few rules for multicast to work between Roon Bridge and Roon Server but again, after fixing that it works flawlessly. Just some routing adjustments for my specific case.
