Bletchley Mansion: 'A Maudlin and Monstrous Pile'

This is a classic example of botched architecture. Originally built by architect Samuel Lipscomb Seckham, it was acquired by Sir Herbert Samuel Leon, who expanded the house into what architect Landis Gores called a "maudlin and monstrous pile".
