Broadcom are just useless patent trolls at this point.

If you can't get a Renault Megane or Clio in Germany at the moment you can thank them for it somehow, because of their "Method and system for an extended range ethernet line code" software patent (EP1903733).

I hadn't seen a kernel panic in years. This week, there were two. 😅

I had the first one after updating an Ubuntu 24.04 on an Acer Spin 1 SP111-32N that was really tricky to install. The upgraded Kernel didn't work.

The second one was after upgrading Linux Mint 22.3 on my Mac Mini with a Broadcom Wifi card with proprietary drivers.
