If anyone thinks electronic price labelling in stores is meant to be a consumer benefit they're mad. I don't want to live in a world where you pick up a can of beans priced at £1 on the shelf but when I get to the till it's now £2.50. This is purely to allow profiteering. If you allow it, it will happen. The retailers want every penny you have so they can give it to the already rich. surge pricing is just another tax on the poor. They'll say it will save you money.
