Romance isn't dead. A new paper argues that a species of wood-eating cockroaches (_Salganea taiwanensis_) pair-bond by eating each other's wings. Then they defend their nest and care for their children all their lives.

Nicht alles, was wie eine Schabe aussieht, ist direkt eine der ungeliebten Küchenschaben. Hier handelt es sich wohl um die Nymphe einer Waldschabe (Ectobius sylvestris). Sie ernähren sich von verrottenden Pflanzenteilen.

Some termites, genus Hospitalitermes, spotted moving objects along a tree branch at MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Singapore on 2 Feb 2025. There were, of course, a lot more termites moving about.
These termites are quite common in nature areas.
