Critiques #US #Bombs #Nigeria 5

Points of criticism:
- #Sovereignty disregarded.
- #Terror in Nigeria not directed against Christians*, members of all religions are threatened.
- Danger: destabilization.
- Portrayal as a religious conflict ignores causes and connections.
- #BadGovernance in Nigeria, failed to solve problems for years.
- Greed for raw materials motive for US.
- Exploitation of raw materials fuels social inequality.
- Social problems like #Hunger ignored.

#MayorLurie - Do you realize you're building #distrust when you support this sort of decision making? This is not good governance.

It may be that the selection criteria staff came up with were incorrect. In that case, revising the decision criteria, clearly identifying what needed to be revised, and why, makes sense. Overruling the criteria that were approved for use? Nope. Or did your senior staff person fail to review the criteria to begin with? Equally Nope

Overruling a recommendation based on the official selection criteria just because one person (or was it 2?) disagrees with the result is #BadGovernance and #BreaksTrust with the people.

Something else I took away from the MSN slideshow was the importance of #BuildingCommunity and perhaps embracing #Anarchy (as in "No Rulers, No Kings"). These days, the ruling class are corporate executives and greedy politicians. Certainly, many who are currently in charge are failing us and the environment!

6. Political systems cannot coordinate responses to global crises.

"Democratic governance systems designed for gradual policy adjustments cannot process the rapid, fundamental changes required to address simultaneously occurring economic, #environmental, and social crises that demand coordinated international responses exceeding current institutional capabilities. Political polarization and short electoral cycles prevent the #LongTermPlanning and #ResourceAllocation necessary to navigate systemic challenges that span decades and require #SustainedCooperation across competing #national interests.

"#InternationalCooperation continues deteriorating as #ResourceScarcity and climate impacts intensify competition between nations, while domestic political systems fragment under the stress of managing declining living standards and increasing inequality that undermine social cohesion. The failure of governance systems to facilitate necessary changes creates the kind of institutional breakdown that characterizes the transition from complex societies to simpler, more localized forms of social organization that can better adapt to resource constraints and environmental instability."

Just came across this and it's just adding on to the already huge pile that is the absolute shit-show in Kenya, under William Ruto.

There is ongoing modern-day slavery being carried out by the Kenyan government, sending citizens to hostile and violent regions for black people just because they can't be bothered to develop the country.

And now this...

Russia duped Africans into building drones for Ukraine war: AP investigation

Russia is recruiting young African women to work at a factory producing drones for use in Ukraine amid a labor shortage. An Associated Press investigation has found that the foreigners and Russian teens are crucial to producing the Iranian-designed drones, which are primarily built in a factory in the Tatarstan region. The Africans were lured to Russia by a massive social media campaign that promised them free airfare and a work-study program, but some of them complain of long hours under constant surveillance, of broken promises about wages and areas of study, and of working with caustic chemicals that left their skin pockmarked and itching as they churn out the drones.

AP News

The Kenyan government, under William Ruto, has been devastating in so many ways and has been ever since it came into administration. This is just one of the realities facing the majority of citizens due to the fuckery that is Kenya Kwanza.

Citizens for hire

Kenya’s labor export model treats citizens as commodities, exploiting workers for remittances while neglecting domestic job creation.

This was Mombasa, Kenya just yesterday. There is severe flooding all across the country.

Capitalism and bad governance always go hand-in-hand, each feeding into the other - a never ending cycle of greed, corruption and exploitation.
