the bouclé keeps getting better. this is a mostly consistent thick single and three plies of binding thread - feels a lot sturdier and I think it balances better too. I don't know what I'm going to use this for but I can see it working out ok as an accent thread for weaving.
there is one trash batt left, I'm going to try to make a match for this skein. that'll be a good test for me.
fat bouclé, v2
these spirals are not squished together at all, which makes this a very unstable yarn, but it's not done yet so that's ok. this bobbin is a hero for putting up with my nonsense.
this is two ounces of fiber. usually I can fit four on one of these bobbins. I wasn't sure I would even make it - weird to be playing bobbin chicken with so little fiber. makes me think this is going to be delightfully lofty once it's finished.
I'm glad I have a jumbo bobbin for the next plying step. I don't think it'll fit on a normal one.
#ThrowbackThursday to some textured yarns Alicia did.
In better crochet news, I've made excellent progress on my shawl!
I've just got the band along the edge to complete, but I haven't the yarn for that right now. It's on hold for me at my new favourite yarn shop in Cornwall, so it won't be long until I can finish it.
This is Finola by Aoibhe Ni in YarnArt Bouquet cotton.
I'm most definitely in love with this project!
