Airbrushing a freehand-camouflage out of my own head left me with a couple of things to fix on the Hummel. This is why I like masking, less space for those 😋
When the greens and browns were done, I diluted some gunmetal and went to town with the roadwheel-polished parts of the tracks. The running ones will be muddy-dirtier while the short track armour will be mostly fresh rusty.
I think I've done enough damage with the airbrush. Time for some hand painting. The Badger Sotar 20/20 never disappoints.

OK..yeah...I get it now. I definitely understand the appeal to creating the shadows and lighting with the airbrush. Man that was a learning experience. Some issues with the paint "disappearing from the mini. After cleaning the airbrush, it turns out that the paint was just too dark and the initial color that landed on the mini was just the paint being thinned from after cleaning the brush when I primed this morning.
But I eventually figured it out. There was cursing... A lot of "What. The. Fuck!" But in the end I haz a learning.
