The Dawning Light WIP
Hiya guys, I've got this awesome high octagon roof ceiling in my house that I've always wanted to paint ever since moving in. It's especially beautiful in the morning as the sunlight beams through the high windows above. From the earliest kindlings of light from passing traffic and the subsequent hours passing by there after, the beams move down, shifting, every moment is beautiful.

Midnight Stars WIP
Hiya folks! Unlike my usual WIP's which are more straightforward with clearer intention in execution, I think you'll notice that this piece took a few twists and turns along its journey. Hopefully you'll still find something of interest as you follow me through my muddled way though!

The Traveller WIP
For this piece I planned on melding the lovely linear beauty of ink crosshatching with realistic renderings in oil... A piece like this can easily look too overworked or too detailed so my aim was to try to keep my lines simple, adding each stroke, be it oil or ink, with conscious proficy so the final result was completed with the least amount of dabs or strokes possible to convey what was needed...

Mince Pies 2 & 3 Watercolour Process
These were done as accompanying pieces to my first Mince Pies Watercolour.. I don’t paint in watercolour much but thought I might document my process here. First a peek at my set up.. These were done on Rough Heavyweight 300 gsm, 100% cotton rag Archers Watercolour Paper ( one of the very best types of archival watercolour papers there is !... ), thus because of its thickness no stretching was required, and I just attached the paper to a hardboard with masking tape.

Morib Landscape (Mixed Media) WIP
So we went for a few trips to Morib ( a seaside location in Malaysia) to do some onsite sketches and photography for this next painting.. Hopefully I've been able recreate the desolate feeling of the particular spot we found ( this area happens to be a carefully guarded secret among photographers, and one has to hunt for it themselves. The dead tree that will be the focus of this piece also happens to be a fav among photographers for their fashion photo shoots!...)

Making a Simple Plaster of Paris Model.
When coming up with imaginary creations of the mind for a painting, it helps to create a version of it in solid form, especially if you’re planing to paint it somewhat realistically. Depicting fantasy creatures realistically has a lot to do with light. A vivid imagination and a full understanding of the nature of light helps a lot in recreating the modulations of light and shadow that give form and substance to an imaginary subject and setting. A model of the subject is invaluable in helping with this aspect of the painting. ( See the final painting I did referencing this model at ‘

Making a Custom Fit Braced Picture Frame.
When it came to framing an old Mixed Media Painting that I'd done some 8 years back, I knew not any old frame job would do. The backboard had slightly warped (as inevitably happens to larger works on hardboard without a brace) so I knew it was high time I rectified it. The next challenge was to make a safe strong support to enable me to display this art piece as it was meant to be displayed... up on the wall. I couldn't have the bottom falling off it under the weight of the painting, and the only way I could think of to minimize the weight on the bottom frame bar was to distribute the weight to the side frame bars..

Part 4 : Multiple Glaze Layers
So we're finally here, the final part of my repainting of Clayton Crain's original art piece, from his Ghost Rider series. I've painted the whole painting primarily in oil, somewhat like the Venetian style of painting, which I felt would most emulate the effect of Clayton Crain's technique using Photoshop.
