An #AmperSand made in Cockenzie, yesterday.

A bit of a rush job, this one, as the tide came in quicker than I'd expected! It probably lasted less than fifteen minutes, once I'd completed it. I rather like seeing them fade away, like this.

I blurred a coastal moment until colors relaxed into one movement. Seafoam greens and sandy golds slide past like the ocean on a coffee break - soft, quietly restless.

I slowed time and sped color. I pushed umbrellas into a blur that portrays summer in fast-forward - rainbow arcs and a striped flag racing past with playful tension.

I found this surf shack stubbornly holding its ground against the Pacific - thatched and weathered, quietly dramatic. I nudged the colors so the warm shelter talks back to the cool, rolling surf.

I photographed a lineup of red loungers and umbrellas; the contrast of saturated red against blue sky and pale sand portrays order and quiet. I love how repetition simplifies the scene.
