There is an axiom in the Bushido code that says...
"The only effective solution against bad and violent people is good people who are more skilled at violence."
That reminds me of the saying, "against bad guys with computers, good guys with computers."
The problem is that nowadays it's not really clear who the good guys and bad guys are, or even if good guys and bad guys truly exist. Perhaps there are conflicts where it's best not to get involved and just observe from the sidelines.
Yes, I'm talking about AI and all that nonsense.

For anyone that's been trying to use my Slop Farmer browser extension, I apologize for it being totally offline. As usually happens I've been swept up in all sorts of other projects pretty much since the new year. I have a weekend that's pretty much just me and my computer with nothing planned, so getting the API server back up and running is high on my TODO list.

It hasn't become any LESS necessary, that's for sure.

When you don't want to do the work of creating something yourself, you're going to end up with a pile of crap with which you cannot be fully satisfied. I say this as someone who's working on a cyber noir novella; if it's gonna be crap at least it'll be original crap. I'll be able to say, "Hey, that's MY crap! And I made it myself!" That's what creativity, research, and drawing your own conclusions is all about.

maybe this is an extreme take, but I dont see any way to ethically use #AI on a personal level
it has use as a tool in the medical industry and has been very beneficial
but any sort of #GenAI in business management, personal use, web development etc. seems wholely unnecessary and only takes up water supply, strains energy grids and causes further damage to the environment.
I would be happy to have my mind changed but given the information I currently have, the cons outweigh the pros
