With Ida, the Cuffaro political dynasty continues.
A campaign that however saw the absence of Totò Cuffaro. The former governor – after serving 4 years and 11 months in Rebibbia prison for a sentence of 7 years for aiding and abetting the mafia – ended up under house arrest in December for corruption in the context of the new investigation into tenders and appointments in healthcare. Totò “Vasa Vasa” returned to freedom a few days ago, after requesting and obtaining a plea bargain of three years (but without prison), but he could not actively participate in the electoral competition: he cannot meet with individuals holding political positions, as stipulated in the supplementary provisions of the plea bargain sentence. Despite this, however, the granddaughter – candidate with the DC (party founded by her uncle) – managed to triumph, claiming the tricolor sash. Shortly thereafter, during the official handover, she will receive it from the hands of her uncle Silvio.

AGI - Sono 6.624.575 gli elettori italiani chiamati al voto per il turno annuale delle elezioni amministrative 2026, dedicate al rinnovo dei consigli comunali e all'elezione diretta dei sindaci. Il voto coinvolgerà sia le regioni a statuto ordinario sia quelle a statuto speciale, con un calendario articolato e differenziato. In tutto 894 comuni di cui 121 superiori a 15mila abitanti e 773 pari o inferiore a 15mila abitanti.
Il calendario per le regioni a statuto ordinario
Nelle regioni a statuto ordinario si voterà domenica 24 e lunedì 25 maggio. I seggi saranno aperti dalle 7 alle 23 la domenica e dalle 7 alle 15 il lunedì. In questa tornata, 5.250.489 elettori rinnoveranno le amministrazioni di 661 comuni, tra cui 15 capoluogo: Lecco, Mantova, Venezia, Arezzo, Pistoia, Prato, Fermo, Macerata, Chieti, Avellino, Salerno, Andria, Trani, Crotone e Reggio Calabria. Nei comuni con più di 15mila abitanti, l'eventuale ballottaggio si terrà domenica 7 e lunedì 8 giugno.

Sono invece 1.374.086 gli elettori chiamati al voto in 233 comuni delle regioni a statuto speciale, con un calendario diversificato. In Valle d'Aosta, il primo turno è fissato per il 24 maggio, con eventuale ballottaggio il 7 giugno. In Friuli Venezia Giulia e in Sicilia, le consultazioni si svolgeranno il 24 e 25 maggio, con ballottaggio in Sicilia il 7 e 8 giugno. In Sardegna, infine, il primo turno è previsto per 7 e 8 giugno, con eventuale ballottaggio il 21 e 22 giugno. Nelle regioni a statuto speciale i comuni capoluogo da rinnovare sono Messina, Enna e Agrigento.

Una donna di 75 anni, Alfonsa Curiale, è morta dopo essere stata investita insieme alla sorella mentre attraversava sulle strisce pedonali in via Carnia, a Milano. La sorella, di 70 anni, è ricoverata in gravi condizioni all’ospedale Niguarda.
L’investimento è avvenuto nella notte ed è stato causato da un’auto, una Smart nera, guidata da un uomo di 39 anni residente a Segrate.
Il conducente positivo ad alcol e droga: si è poi costituito
Secondo quanto ricostruito dalla Polizia Locale, l’uomo avrebbe investito le due donne senza fermarsi a prestare soccorso, allontanandosi subito dopo l’impatto. Dai primi test sarebbe risultato con un tasso alcolemico quattro volte superiore al limite consentito e positivo al narcotest.
Dopo circa un’ora di fuga, il 39enne si è costituito al comando della Polizia Locale di via Ornato, presentandosi con l’auto incidentata. Sarebbe stato raggiunto dalla segnalazione dei genitori, che avrebbero contattato il 112 dopo aver appreso dell’accaduto.
Il conducente è stato arrestato con le accuse di omicidio stradale e omissione di soccorso, aggravate dallo stato di ebbrezza e dall’assunzione di sostanze stupefacenti.

A 75-year-old woman, Alfonsa Curiale, died after being hit along with her sister while crossing the street on the pedestrian crossing on Via Carnia, Milan. Her sister, 70 years old, is hospitalized in serious condition at the Niguarda Hospital.
The accident occurred in the night and was caused by a car, a black Smart, driven by a 39-year-old man resident in Segrate.
The driver tested positive for alcohol and drugs: he subsequently surrendered.
According to the local police reconstruction, the man had hit the two women without stopping to provide assistance, immediately after the impact. Initial tests revealed a blood alcohol level four times higher than the legal limit and a positive drug test.
After about an hour of fleeing, the 39-year-old turned himself in to the local police command at Via Ornato, arriving with the damaged car. He was reached by a report from his parents, who had contacted 112 after learning about the incident.
The driver was arrested on charges of road homicide and failure to provide assistance, aggravated by intoxication and the use of narcotics.

L’obiettivo dichiarato è mettere ordine nel settore e contrastare il fenomeno delle autobotti abusive che, durante l’emergenza idrica, trasportavano acqua senza regole precise né controlli sulla tracciabilità.
Con il superamento della fase emergenziale, Aica punta ora a riportare il sistema nella legalità: l’acqua dovrà essere pagata all’ente pubblico e non direttamente ai privati che effettuano il trasporto.
