Some time ago I found some SATA disks in the cellar. I got an adapter to look through the data, and two of them even were in working condition.

Most of the stuff had been copied twenty years ago, but I found a few AD&D modules as pdfs. They are some of those that WotC did release as free pdfs in the early 2000s. I think they didn't put much weight to this 'digital' 'pdf' thing nor to old AD&D stuff.

Strange to think there was such a time.

I’m not your typical dice goblin. I don’t collect dice with numbers on them. I like special use novelty dice with graphics on them! #ttrpg #ttrpgs #dice #noveltydice #dnd #adnd #bxdnd #osr #osrrpg

The #ADnD game fell through tonight due to two missing players, so we played Wrath of #Ashardalon tonight instead for the first time in over a decade for all four of us. We lost, but it was fun.

I wound up playing the solo encounter this morning and lost miserably with the Wizard. I changed to the Paladin and smoked it.

Does anyone use the punching & wrestling rules as written (for #ADnD or 2nd ed)? I can’t say I ever have.

Fun Fact: In the 1970s and 80s, TSR published the maps for their D&D adventures in blue to prevent piracy. This specific color of blue wouldn’t copy on analog optical photocopy machines. Today, D&D maps in “non-photo blue” are easily reproduced with scanners or digital copiers. New adventure maps in this blue are now only done for aesthetic purposes and nostalgia’s sake. #ttrpg #ttrpgs #dnd #adnd #bxdnd #tsr #tsrhobbies #tsrinc #1980s

@dysonlogos inspired me to pull out my #ADnD #DungeonMastersGuide and roll up a random #dungeon. It immediately went off the rails with a triangular room with 3 doors on the long 45° wall.

I had to do a little creative interpretation on some of the rolls but it was a fun exercise.

I’m catching up on @MasteringDnD episodes. I’m listening to episode 289 (Best of Against the Giants), and Teos and Shawn said that most of the xp came from treasure and not monsters. My initial reaction was, “no it didn’t,” then I remembered my group and every group in my area never awarded for treasure. Treasure was its own reward. I have no idea how it played out using R.A.W. I love hearing others experiences, because like initiative, I forget how many home rules were in our games. #DnD #ADnD
The Witches of Appendix N: Andre Norton
I am now heading into another important entry to the Appendix N. Andre Norton is one of only three women Gygax mentions. We are also getting one of the few books where witches are the key figures.

Anyone have suggestions for good Folk Hero adventures? I’m running Nimble but I can adapt from just about any fantasy rpg, from 1e to 5e, from OSR to Pathfinder.

I just learned that D&D 5e has a monster named "pit fiend" that I never knew about in my 1e bubble.

My pit fiend is based off an old monster minis set produced by Grenadier back in the 1980s under a separate label. Their Fantasy Monsters set had a "One Eyed Pit Monster".

In my Etinerra campaign, a pit fiend is a homebrew monster of Chaos.

Here's a link about that old boxed set that has several awesome figures!
