⚙️🫡 Steampunk Commander. An abandoned #ArtDeco control room inside an emergency standby powerplant, somewhere in #Belgium.

Navy blue panels line the walls, each set with analogue dials and levers. Two removed dials rest on the central desk, like top hats left behind by a Steampunk gentleman. Large windows and skylights fill the room with soft late-afternoon light.

🏭Industrial masterpiece. In the 1930s, this behemoth machine was, at the time, the biggest gas engine ever built! Now it stands rusting and abandoned inside an old power plant somewhere in Luxembourg.

Springburn Winter Gardens, Springburn Park Glasgow.

Designed by Simpson and Farmer, hothouse builders, with William Baird of Temple ironworks, this large glass house was built in 1900. It was damaged during a storm in 1983 and has been abandoned ever since. Plans to restore it were revealed in 2020, but have yet to be to implimented.

Sealed up entrance to the abandoned railway line under Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow. This tunnel led from the old Kelvin Bridge Station to what is now Exhibition Centre in Finnieston. The line was closed in the 1960s.

The next place where this line is visible is from the beer Garden of the Finnieston Bar on Argyle Street.

Abandoned railway line passing under Crownpoint Road in the east end of Glasgow before disappearing under the city towards the northwest.

This line, part of the Glasgow City and District Railway, would have originally linked Bridgeton Cross Station (closed in 1979) with Gallowgate Central Station (closed in 1917) and on to High Street Station (still operational).

The remains of the old Crow Road Railway Station under Clarence Drive in the west end of Glasgow. It was open from 1896 until 1960.

From here, trains once ran as far west as Dumbarton (along what is now a cycle path to Loch Lomond) as well as into the middle of Glasgow and up to the old Caledonian Railway Line which ran under the Botanic Gardens.
