The remnants of Scotstoun East Railway Station in the West of Glasgow. Originally Victoria Park Station when it opened in 1896, it became Scotstoun Station in 1900 and then Scotstoun East Station 1952 before finally closing in 1964. It was part of the Caledonian Railway line which ran from Rutherglen, through Glasgow and on out to Dumbarton. This section of the old line now forms part of the cycle path between Glasgow and Loch Lomond.

After this event, the tunnel was sealed and a large gravel barrier was placed in front of it to stop this happening again. In the thirty years since this flood, the gravel barrier has gradually settled to the point where it is now barely noticable and if the Kelvin were to breach the same retaining wall today, the same type of event would most likely be repeated.

Then in December 1994, the River Kelvin burst through a retaining wall just north of this entrance, sending a torrent of water through the tunnel. It eventually emerged a few miles further south, where it flooded the still-operational Exhibition Centre station before flowing across the SEC carpark and cascading into the Clyde. It took many months for the Argyle Line between Partick and Glasgow Central to re-open once more.

The entrance to an abandoned railway tunnel leading beneath Kelvingrove Park in the West End of Glasgow. Once part of a line built by Caledonian Railways in the 1890s, it closed in the 1960s. The tunnel remained open for anyone to explore until the early 1990s.

A section of old railway track on Methil Street in the Whiteinch area of Glasgow. This appears to be one of many spurs of the old Lanarkshire and Dumbarton Railway line which ran parallel to South Street (and now forms the basis of a cycle path between Glasgow and Loch Lomond). It most likely serviced the many industrial companies which once lined the Clyde in this part of Glasgow.

This line would formerly have connected the north and west of Glasgow with the City Centre, and would have joined onto the line which once travelled beneath the Botanic Gardens and Kelvingrove Park to meet what is now the Argyle Line at Finnieston.

An abandoned railway bridge just visible amongst the trees along the banks of the River Kelvin in the Maryhill area of Glasgow. While the span across the river itself is long gone, you can still make out one of its piers emerging from the water.
