A Victorian glasshouse in Tollcross Park in the East End of Glasgow. It's thought to have been built around 1858, which would make it the oldest of the city's five historic winter gardens.

Tollcross Winter Gardens in the east end of Glasgow. It was built in the 1850s, but fell into disrepair after being damaged in a storm 2011. It was restored to its former glory in the early 2020s.

Springburn Winter Gardens in Springburn Park in Glasgow. Designed by Simpson and Farmer, hothouse builders, with William Baird of Temple ironworks, this large glass house was built in 1900. It was damaged during a storm in 1983 and has been abandoned ever since. Plans to restore it were revealed in 2020, but have yet to be to implimented. I struggle to understand why nothing has been done with such a magnificent structure in over 40 years.
It looks like the Winter Gardens will get some love
According to this BBC news article, Thanet District Council (TDC) has arranged with Westwood One Theatre for them to renovate and reopen the place.
I’m sure the £4m funding boost helped that along, although that’s a drop in the ocean compared to the spiralling estimates of the price of restorative work needed, which could be as high as £11m.
As most of you probably know, the Winter Gardens were closed in August 2022 after Your Leisure reported big old financial losses and gave the lease back to TDC.
There’s a bunch of paperwork and other preliminary planning requirements, but reports suggest the venue could be open in as little as 18 months. That places the opening time around October or November of 2026. I wouldn’t hold my breath. These things always seem to run over due and over budget. My bet is on an opening in spring of 2027.
What’s your guess for when (or if) the Winter Gardens will reopen?

The Winter Gardens at the Peoples' Palace on Glasgow Green. Built in 1898, it was extensively renovated for its 100th anniversary in 1998, including reglazing it. However, by the early 2020s, it had become clear that, the sealant used to attach the glass to the ironwork in the 1990s renovation had reached the end of its lifespan, rendering the space unsafe. It's now in the process of being refurbished once again.
