83. Light Trails

🧠 I was hoping to get a bus but got fed up waiting so made do with the cars passing by, as well as getting J to walk back and forward!

⭐I'm pleased with the car light streaks and repeated wheel alloy pattern! I'm also quite chuffed the rest is so crisp. I had the camera hanging round my neck and resting against my abdomen with the wee screen popped up to use instead of the viewfinder.

➡️ It's maybe a bit busy. I cut off the top of the tunnel which had given surround framing because there was too much that was distracting. I think if I'd captured a bus the full height could've worked.

A fine example of a wally close in the Broomhill area of Glasgow. A wally close is a tiled a commununal stairwell a Glasgow tenement, with the word wally being a Scots word for anything made from ceramics or china. This can include wally dugs (china dogs), and wallies (or false teeth). This, in itself, is derived from an older meaning of anything fancy, splendid or highly decorative.

1860s blonde sandstone tenement on Argyle Street in Finnieston, Glasgow. I like the painted signs on the ground floor shop fronts on this building, especially Pearl the gold leaf shell oyster lady.

Love this sign from A Sign of Humour I spotted on a bike rack in Argyle Street in the Finnieston area of Glasgow today. Not really too sure it's needed, but better safe than sorry!

This is something I'd like to see rolled out across the rest of Glasgow as it makes a big difference to the local streetscape and helps highlight the city's amazing architecture, which is all to often overwhelmed by modern shopfronts. It would also give Glasgow a much more distinctive and unique feel to its streets.
