At least the soldering was worth it. After much swearing and gnashing of teeth, I got the second power wire in.

With 4x50 lights, the voltage sags too much by the end of the string. So I needed a second wire from the power supply to the middle to get more juice to that end.

Now I can have a rainbow tree if I want.

The software is WLED and the ESP32 chip is pretty cheap. ($4?)

Helping @steggy β€˜s mom put up #Christmas decorations. I guess it gets hot in the attic where she stores things. This had been a candle of some kind.

WTF!? Someone in my neighborhood appears to have already put out their Christmas decorations. smh

Christmas Eve day I was working (boooo) but the kids enjoyed a pyjama sesh seeing Polar Express at the cinema with family and friends and having hot chocolate, after work it was the classic tradition of Christmas Eve boxes, treats out for Santa on the fireplace, feeding the Reindeers magic food and festive movies. Christmas Day - Santa had left all his gifts and we had the best day opening them, having the best food and it was just really nice. Family and friends around the Christmas dinner table (lashings of gravy) telling corny Christmas Cracker jokes, enjoying new gifts, having the day not leaving the house - the kind of rich I want in my life. Also, trying to get a nice photo of all of us is a whole challenge in itself! Hope you all had a Merry Christmas whatever you were doing or even if you don't celebrate πŸŽ…"

A bunch of #dill kept fresh in water on our counter made me think it looked a lot like xmas, so I got a couple of cranberries out of the freezer.

Boom - edible seasonal decor.
