Return-caller stepped through her symptoms. Said we didn't need to go to the ER unless symptoms got markedly worse. Said the office would call back the following morning (today) and schedule her for a same-day appointment.
GP's office eventually called and booked her an appointment. At the appointment, assessing physician said that we didn't need to seek urgent labs or imaging. Also said she should get in contact with her GI specialist, since there's a good chance the pain was related to a recent medication-change for a chronic condition.
Drove home. Expected that the first thing my wife would have done was contact her GI specialist's office. I ate the lunch I picked up on the way home, then got back to work.
Called out, "you call your GI's office, yet." Wife is an inveterate procrastinator, especially about anything medical. So, I was unsurprised to hear her respond "no." What was surprising was the "why" of her "no". Apparently, she got "distracted" cleaning spam out of her email account.

Me? I fucking hate doctors. I hate seeking medical care. But what I hate even more is being inadequately-aggressive about medical issues. Medical issues that aren't aggressively prosecuted have a tendency to get worse and significantly more-expensive to treat. So, yeah, I lost my shit at that response.
