I forgot to brag about great talk by Philippe Longchamps, best teacher in #Sweden.
Czech Skeptics Club Sisyfos (@clairek) invited him to Prague. Great talk, great event.

It's been some time since my last #toot โฐ.
A lot is going on the last few weeks. I've been learning much about volume of fluid #VOF and #surfacetension and having finally some success with boundary conditions ๐Ÿ˜. Hope to share some more in the upcoming weeks.

Besides that, I've just browsed the first few pages of #PRL recent and while I think they do a good job of representing different areas of #physics, there is a lot of high energy physics ๐Ÿ”„ ๐Ÿ’ฅ

Last week I came across the codedFixedValue boundary condition in #openfoam. I basically want to pump gas into my system with some control parameters, e.g. amount of gas, bubble size distribution. codedFixedValue can do that, what surprised me however was how to use vectors. In an #openfoam dictonary the style is (0 0 0) for a 3D vector. Inside the codedFixedValue the style changes to vector(0,0,0) ๐Ÿค”

#CFD , #VOF, #fluids

How cool is snappyHexMesh for meshing a geometry using #openfoam! Special thanks to Konstantinos Missios who gave me a walk through this utility.
Having a satisfying geometry and a good mesh there is only more thing to do .... define a working boundary condition #CFD #VOF ๐Ÿ˜™

Fast forward to #today where we have a joint project with external partners. In this project we should simulate a two phase flow in geometry that is not just a box (my previous geometry of choice when using #openfoam ๐Ÿ˜…).

Spending a day and a half I have to say, I am very much impressed with what you can do with @FreeCAD and #SalomeCAD. Very intuitive and with the help of #youtube #tutorials straightforward to use! Still now I can truly say that the #LBM mesh is trivial as compared to #vof

My ๐Ÿ˜ #introduction ๐Ÿ‘‹

I'm a researcher at Roskilde University (#RUC) in ๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ. My background is #physics and research I do revolves around #fluiddynamics ๐ŸŒŠ ๐Ÿ’ฆ using #CFD and #theory. Much of my work is focused on #thinfilms or #droplets. My perferred #CFD tool is #LBM but I started using #VOF with #openfoam. I try to be open when it comes to coding which is why I switch languages for different tasks #julialang, #python, #C++, #JS.
Besides that I'm into #running ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ, #gaming, #coffee โ˜• and #politics.
