A pic from late this summer🌸🍃

This flower, Himalayan balsam or kiss-me-on-the-mountain or "giant balsam" (jättipalsami), is not a native flower in Finland and it has been labeled as one of the invasive species. But it's still beautiful and also very intriguing with it's exploding seed pods and the fact that it can grow over 3m high!

I am thrilled to share with you all a beautiful sculpture made by my dear friend Rita. The piece is a bust of me, and I'm honored that she chose to celebrate my unique form despite my physical limitations due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. It reminds me that my beauty and value are not defined by societal norms or physical ability, but by the wonder and complexity of the human form. As a protagonist in the film "Touch Me Not" by Adina Pintilie, I've become passionate about the importance of disability empowerment and inclusion, and this sculpture is a powerful representation of that. #FlowerFriday: A Sensitive #Plant Flower. The #SensitivePlant is among a few plants that move in response to stimuli. They fold up at night, during the rain, and when touched. For this reason they’re also called Touch-Me-Nots.
Their flowers are just balls of #pink fluff emerging from a central #stalk.
