There was a plant on the windowsill of a cafรฉ I went to this morning. One of its leaves was broken off on the sill (I didnโt pick it!) so I pocketed it (or rather the OH did). I donโt know what it is but I wondered if I could propagate it and if so how? I mean, obviously could try sticking it in water but should I cut it first?
Update: itโs now in succulent compost so fingers crossed ๐ค. Thank you for the advice ๐
The latest round of flowers are dying back on the holiday cactus (๐๐ค๐ฉ๐ญ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ๐จ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ข sp.), but now it has plenty of cute little baby segments sprouting from its stems:

my mini Phalaenopsis orchid (which is starting to flower again) has an abundance of aerial roots, but few surviving roots in the pot. i plan to change the medium (repot into the same pot), but my experience tells me that doing so will kill the flowers. waiting for the flowers to drop on their own might take me into next winter. so in the meantime, i stuck some of the aerial root tips into a dish of water. maybe this will help it stay healthy throughout its flowering. ๐คท
