Am I the only one who keeps #Google in its own browser ensconced in a #sandbox with nothing else in the browser EXCEPT Google-owned pages? Because to the folks around me, I'm takin' crazy pills, apparently.

I can't fully divest a couple accounts "for reasons", but that's about how much I trust The Googz. (And yeah, I own some Android devices as well, but the fruit company and Linux flavors won my daily drivers.)

Anyone at @ubuntu still maintaining #PPP / #Modem support?

Because I did want to verify #Iridium data connections work but not only does it configure it as #MobileData and gnome-ppp isn't available on #UbuntuLTS 22.04.x's repos.

I have questions about whatsapp.

How big of a security riski is it?
How private is it?

If I installed an app from F-Droid, but the app is also available (with the same app ID) from Google Play, how do I get Google Play to stop asking me to "update" to the Play Store version?

EDIT: 3 fedicreatures have now suggested Aurora Store, but haven't there been reports of Google banning folks for using it?

I've a question about Kate/KWrite:

Is there a quick way to highlight just one line of text?

On Gnome Text Editor/Gedit/Pluma/Xed you can triple click, and that highlights the line. On Kate/Kwrite, though, triple clicking also highlights the newline character at the end of the line: I don't want to do that.

I tried looking in the "configure shortcuts" settings menu and didn't see a way to create a shortcut for highlighting one line, either with the mouse or keyboard.

Can it be done?

Tech question:
I have a static page on my own domain using Codeberg Pages.

I would like to use the same domain name for email. Disroot describes how to point my domain to Disroot for email using a txt record.

My question is, if I follow Disroot's instructions, will it mess up the website I have on the same domain?
