Looks like my second #facebook era is at an end. I quit it a few years ago to take a break, then rejoined 2 years ago to reconnect with a few acquaintances.

Today #meta suspended it, put me through a selfie scan, then disabled it permanently (including #messenger) with no appeal.

The funny thing is, I have absolutely no clue why this has happened.

*shrugs*

Easy come, easy go, #motherfuckers.

They left my #whatsapp alone but fuck em, that's getting deleted now.

🚨📣 I deleted my Facebook today so I figured I should post a selfie to celebrate 👹! Technically, it's scheduled for deletion in 30 days because they are desperate for eyeballs and data. But whatever, I finally did it. I wasn't actively using it for 10 years now so, it doesn't have much of an actual effect on my life (lmao) but it feels good to truly kill it dead 🪦 🧛🏽‍♀️. This is a pretty solid #fuckyou to #meta. I noticed that my mastodon instance was servicing a lot more traffic than normal, so I looked in to it and it was all from the meta crawler. Thousands of requests to the sign_up endpoint and over 5GB of data transfered. Fuck you, assholes. Every other crawler used 100MB or less. It's not that I even mind crawlers too much as long as they're responsible. This is insane.

You are screwing over open source software because Meta is being a little bitch baby about their addictive platform and how kids are getting addicted to social media. Its the parents responsibility to make sure their stupid kids dont go online and look at stuff they aren't supposed to. "Ohhhh parents dont know enough about technology and they cant be around all the time" not my problem. I didnt have kids for multiple reasons one of them is I don't want that annoying responsibility, so hey parents keep that responsibility to yourself and stop using ignorance of technology as an excuse for not taking care of your annoying kids. Pick up a book, watch a YouTube video LEARN!!! LEARN WHAT YOUR KID IS DOING SO YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT AND STOP PUSHING IT TO THE REST OF US.

Your kid is NOT my responsibility, and your decision to have a kid isnt my problem. Stay out of open source software space! Keep an eye on your own stupid kids and stop throwing the responsibility onto others. Take responsibility for your own stupid kids. Learn about computers use the ALREADY BUILT IN KIDS SETTINGS THAT ARE ALREADY THERE. Actually be parents, ya know? Like actually learning the tech your kids are using so you know enough to protect them online? Ya know? Instead of relying on the government, or corporations to protect your kid? Ya know? Its almost this weird thing called common sense.

Dont have a fucking kid for 1, for 2 again if you actually LEARNED THE TECH you would know you can limit what websites they can visit, you can see their search history, you can limit their screen time with countless apps and different software meant to do just that. There is NO reason for what is happening. Its not for the kids, its not for our own safety. Its for power, control, government overreach, and mass surveillance. Dont fool yourself by believing is ACTUALLY about the kids. Learn what you need to keep your own damn kid safe online and stop putting on the rest of us and relying on others to do it for you.
