Other than being completely devoid of culture or eateries the station vibe is very similar to Montreal. Just... sterile. It's hard to imagine meeting someone in one.

I love the absence of tire dust though. Long live rails.

I know the bar is pretty low in Ontario, but Toronto Line 5 Eglington is a pretty ok metro!

The stations are exceptionally cavernous and empty. Hardly any bicycle parking or coffee shops or connections to the shopping centres or residential buildings. Just hallways for elephants. Why?

Certainly way better than bringing a personal automobile into this area though. I'm definitely never doing that again.

Scarborough is indeed in a state of transit poverty. they must be really sick of a long line of Toronto Mayors doing next to nothing about it.

The 80 Queensway is such an under Invested route. There's commercial, industrial, and residential all along the route. It connects with a lot of N/S cross routes, a variety of routes at Sherway Gardens, and the Queen tram at Humber Loop.

Yet service is always slow in traffic, and infrequent off peak. I used to take the 80-15 to get to work but catching the 15 is such a gamble. Tonight I thought I could make it and got lucky that I could retreat to the 80 as the 15 blew by.

From #TTCRiders:

Toronto has a plan to make buses and streetcars faster and more reliable by prioritizing them in traffic, known as RapidTO. RapidTO was first introduced in 2020, but the plan is stalled. Only one project has been completed: red bus lanes on Eglinton East, Kingston, and Morningside. A bus lane on Jane Street was supposed to be installed in 2021...
