I have been brewing and drinking some Counter Culture #Coffee this week. I tried two of their medium roasts (Hologram, and Fast Forward) so far, and I brewed them in a #Chemex.
They are so dang sweet, and the sweetness lingers. Even many hours later, and after eating some salty and savory food, there is still a subtle sweetness in my throat!
I've heard of this effect being present with some #teas, but never had black coffee that was so sweet it turned my mouth into a candyland all day.
@MaQuest Whenever I had tummy issues, my grandmother would make me ginger tea! Good stuff!
I've made a few fancy drinks this week.
The first is easy-peasy, cold brewed mint iced tea over sparkling water. It's perfection for hot days.
The second was coffee with horchata. I thought it would be a great idea, and then I saw Danny Trejo doing it with iced coffee and knew it was a great idea.
The third is a sweet treat for me. Kefir topped with a bit of coconut milk, with a small drop of a coordinating flavor of Stur. Yesterday I used blueberry kefir with Stur blackberry & blueberry flavoring. It's like a melted milkshake. Normally I don't like sweets, so I really have to emphasize that this is sweet, so much sweeter than I usually recommend.
Strawberry kefir + coconut cream + Stur strawberry watermelon. Liquid cake.
Bummed that tea has been making my GERD worse, anyone have recommendations on more pH & gut friendly #teas/#tisanes?
I’ve been steeping for shorter times, but still getting the acidy acidy reflux. I love vegetal green teas and planty or creamy white teas and ooolongs best.
FWIW #Matcha lattes are usually safe, and I have a couple mulberry leaf and a holly leaf teas which I really like too!
