Decided to take a detour and make a pair of seasonal placemats. Almost done!
Block 12 đ done. I was going to try to have this quilt done by Xmas, but I've been distracted all year by shearing, gardening, haying, and now mucking. Also, we've made it into the holidays, so it makes it even harder to find time. I do always work best under pressure though! đđ

CarolynI've finished making a pair of cosy house socks for my Mum's Christmas present (not pictured to avoid spoilers for her) and I thought I'd make myself a pair as well, using up some of the scrap yarn I am working my way through.
They fit but they're a bit slippery on the laminate so I've added some liquid rubber to the under side and I'm just waiting for that to cure so I can have comfy feet without going A over T in the living room

Nightmare stashbuster neutral granny square blanket on the blocking boards. Took five hours to sew ĂŹn ends -and half were done. I'll leave it for a day, edge it then that's one down. Colours reminding me of Skye in autumn.

My first scrap yarn crochet rug on the blocking board to even out the edges. Made with 5 strands of DK yarn and a 9mm hook, as one colour runs out, you attach another, crocheting over the ends as you go. This makes the gradual colour shifts. An absolute stashbuster, it's used up all my bright acrylic cheap yarn from charity shops and leftovers. Ended up about 1m square. I may edge it - see how well it blocks.

I've been making a few bits for my work desk this week. This is the latest one - a mat to sit under my keyboard!
The keyboard clacks too much when it's just on the desk, so I whipped up this granny rectangle to sit under it, and its great!
I'm now working on a desk tidy basket to put all the little bits and bobs that sit on my desk in, so they're all contained.

It's Sunday evening, and another bag is done! The strap is still on another bag at the moment, but I'll change it over when I use this.
I've done one side with colour and the other plain black, so I have a couple of options, and I've used a zip to help with this rather than having a flap like my other one.
