My friend just finished quilting this for me on a long arm quilting machine. I pieced the top a few months ago! I will pick it up next week to do the binding. I’m really happy with it. This is my 3rd quilt ever.

So, I took everything off the frame, evened up the backing, then put it back on. And now there's a severe thunderstorm overhead, and I'm waiting for it to pass before I go back out to the studio to finish setting it up. Again.

Another media outlet "discovers" #Craftivism

I do wish these stories wouldn't always focus on whether craft activism is performative. I make things because I cannot not make things. Other aspects of my life, including my political feelings, influence what I make. That's what art fucking is, but call it craft and suddenly everybody and their mother has a shitty opinion as to it's worth 🤷‍♀️

Good Saturday world, about a month ago my dishwasher died. No worries, I can hand-wash dishes. This week my refrigerator died. I can’t live without a refrigerator. My son and I went shopping and bought a new refrigerator. We also bought a new dishwasher. The appliances get delivered this coming Friday. On a brighter side I have started hand-quilting the Firefly Serenity quilt. I have decided to use glow in the dark thread…because “Shiny!” #quilting #firefly #serenity

RIP Joann Fabrics, the big box store we all knew was bad for our local stores but still didn't want to suffer a venture capitalist death

Anyway! Back to #quilting and the #effikaAtomicStarburst project now that I have had a two-week break due to the oak pollen making me unable to look down without stuffing a kleenex up my nose & taking 2x my meds, and also sewing my husband a cape in 3 days (pics later)
