@I_am_a_plant I used a small Turkish spindle last summer when bicycle touring and spun a lace weight 2 ply yarn of a hand dyed braid by Regenbogenwolle. The fiber content was 60% Falkland wool, 20% silk and 20% (mint) rayon. I finished it on my wheel at home, but the yarn you see in the picture is all spindle spun.

For #WIPWednesday a little progress on the second #crochet #PufferFish #amigurumi - now working on the small parts. Assembly to be expected this weekend. More progress on #knitting the #SpindleSpun shawl. Also I made a spreadsheet to keep track of the stitch count and weight of the #yarn inspired by Roxanne Richardson.

Upped my game: bought and assembled my first #SpinningWheel . Still working on the sample sweater with all of my first #handspun #yarn. Now spinning the last fibre (German merino) from the #spinnfasern starterset on the wheel and it's much more irregular and overtwisted than my #spindlespun singles... @fiberarts #handspinning #WIPwednesday #fiberuary

Den Regentropfen lauschen und nach dem Stress der letzten Wochen tatsächlich einen ruhigen Moment zum Spinnen finden. Keine Ahnung, was für eine Wolle das ist. Schaf mit irgendwas schön Glitzerigem.
Ich spinne mit Ply-on-the-fly - so kann ich gleich das dreifädige Garn abwickeln. Die Spindel ist langsam zu voll für bequemes Spinnen, das erste Drittel vom Kammzug kommt bald runter.

#TourdeFleece: Woohoo! Had enough time yesterday morning to spin on my wheel (spinning the #faseradventskalender from 2017). later I could sit down, chat with a friend, eat something (syrian Hummous, yumm!) and spin more with my kurdish spindle while our toddlers were playing together.
