Agi: Pina Picierno lascia il Pd: “La casa dei riformisti non esiste più”

AGI - Pina Picierno, vicepresidente del Parlamento europeo, lascia il Partito democratico. In un'intervista al Foglio spiega: "La casa dei riformisti non c'è più. Non si può essere ambigui con il fascismo putiniano e gli estremismi. È ora di lavorare a qualcosa di nuovo, per vincere le elezioni".
"Il Pd — afferma ancora — ha subito uno snaturamento avvenuto per scivolamenti inesorabili. Il partito che abbiamo voluto al Lingotto non esiste più ed è necessario prenderne atto, ma le ragioni per cui è nato esistono ancora".
"Se oggi esiste un luogo nel quale si misurano le credibilità, la forza e il futuro delle democrazie europee, quel luogo è Kyiv. Guardo con stupore — afferma in un altro passaggio — ai distinguo, ai silenzi che accompagnano il dibattito italiano sull'Ucraina".
A quanto si apprende da fonti parlamentari europee Pina Picierno, che si è dimessa dal PD, è pronta ad aderire a Renew Europe e al Partito democratico europeo di Sandro Gozi.

"Pina Picierno ha avuto il merito di affermare una verità che molti vedono e pochi hanno il coraggio di dire. Non si può essere europeisti a giorni alterni, atlantisti a convenienza o riformisti solo a parole. Abbiamo il dovere costruire una grande forza europea di governo, che unisca riformisti, liberali, democratici ed ecologisti pragmatici, per rispondere in modo credibile alle sfide del nostro tempo".

According to sources in the European Parliament, Pina Picierno, who has resigned from the PD, is ready to join Renew Europe and the Sandro Gozi European Democratic Party.

“Pina Picierno has the merit of stating a truth that many see and few have the courage to say. You can’t be Europeanists on alternating days, Atlantists of convenience, or reformers only in words. We have a duty to build a great European governing force, which unites reformers, liberals, democrats, and pragmatic ecologists, to respond credibly to the challenges of our time.”

Dopo settimane complicate, la vicepresidente dell’Eurocamera, Pina Picierno, lascia il Pd di Elly Schlein. Una decisione maturata da tempo, le cui ragioni sono state spiegate nel corso di un’intervista rilasciata dall’ormai ex esponente dem a Il Foglio. Qui ha dichiarato che “la casa dei riformisti non c’è più. Non si può essere ambigui con il fascismo putiniano e gli estremismi. È ora di lavorare a qualcosa di nuovo, per vincere le elezioni”.

Il Fatto Quotidiano: Parigi respinge la cittadinanza onoraria a Francesca Albanese. Gozi: “La città non può premiare posizioni radicali”

Nonostante la rimozione delle sanzioni da parte degli Stati Uniti, il Consiglio di Parigi ha respinto con 76 voti a favore della bocciatura e 48 contrari la proposta presentata da La France Insoumise per conferire la cittadinanza onoraria della città a Francesca Albanese, relatrice speciale delle Nazioni Unite sui Territori palestinesi occupati. A sostenere la bocciatura della mozione sono stati i gruppi MoDem, Renaissance e socialisti e repubblicani. A favore del conferimento della cittadinanza hanno invece votato Verdi, La France Insoumise e i comunisti. Nel dibattito in aula è intervenuto anche Sandro Gozi, consigliere di Parigi in quota MoDem ed eurodeputato di Renew Europe, che ha contestato duramente la proposta.
“La cittadinanza onoraria di Parigi non può diventare uno strumento militante né un simbolo di radicalizzazione politica“, ha dichiarato Gozi nel suo intervento. “Come può una grande capitale europea, città del dialogo e dell’universalismo, onorare una personalità che da anni moltiplica dichiarazioni partigiane e provocazioni ideologiche?”. Gozi ha ricordato alcune dichiarazioni di Albanese sul conflitto israelo-palestinese e sul 7 ottobre, definendo “gravissime” le parole con cui aveva sostenuto che “la violenza di oggi deve essere contestualizzata”. “Si può davvero contestualizzare il terrorismo? Si può relativizzare la barbarie?”, ha affermato.
Gozi ha inoltre citato l’episodio avvenuto a Reggio Emilia, quando Albanese interruppe pubblicamente il sindaco dopo un riferimento alla soluzione “due popoli, due Stati” e alla liberazione degli ostaggi israeliani. “Una rappresentante delle Nazioni Unite che rifiuta persino il principio della coesistenza e intima a un sindaco democraticamente eletto di non ripetere certe parole non può rappresentare un simbolo per Parigi”, ha detto. “Parigi non ha vocazione a diventare il teatro delle radicalità importate. Conferire questa onorificenza sarebbe stato un errore morale, politico e storico”, ha concluso.

Despite the lifting of sanctions by the United States, the Paris City Council rejected with 76 votes in favor and 48 against the proposal presented by La France Insoumise to confer honorary citizenship of the city to Francesca Albanese, the United Nations Special Rapporteur on the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The MoDem, Renaissance, and Socialist and Republicans groups supported the rejection of the motion. In favor of conferring citizenship voted Greens, La France Insoumise, and communists. Sandro Gozi, Paris City Councilor for MoDem and Renew Europe MEP, also spoke in the debate, strongly contesting the proposal.

“The honorary citizenship of Paris cannot become a militant tool nor a symbol of political radicalization,” Gozi stated in his intervention. “How can a major European capital, a city of dialogue and universalism, honor a personality who for years has multiplied partisan statements and ideological provocations?” Gozi cited some of Albanese’s statements regarding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and October 7th, describing them as “serious” in that she had argued that “the violence of today must be contextualized.” “Can terrorism really be contextualized? Can barbarity be relativized?” he said.

Gozi also cited the incident in Reggio Emilia, when Albanese publicly interrupted the mayor after a reference to the “two peoples, two states” solution and the release of Israeli hostages. “A representative of the United Nations who even refuses the principle of coexistence and instructs a democratically elected mayor not to repeat certain words cannot represent a symbol for Paris,” he said. “Paris has no vocation to become the stage for imported radicalism. Conferring this honor would have been a moral, political, and historical error,” he concluded.
