Agi: Pina Picierno lascia il Pd: “La casa dei riformisti non esiste più”

AGI - Pina Picierno, vicepresidente del Parlamento europeo, lascia il Partito democratico. In un'intervista al Foglio spiega: "La casa dei riformisti non c'è più. Non si può essere ambigui con il fascismo putiniano e gli estremismi. È ora di lavorare a qualcosa di nuovo, per vincere le elezioni".
"Il Pd — afferma ancora — ha subito uno snaturamento avvenuto per scivolamenti inesorabili. Il partito che abbiamo voluto al Lingotto non esiste più ed è necessario prenderne atto, ma le ragioni per cui è nato esistono ancora".
"Se oggi esiste un luogo nel quale si misurano le credibilità, la forza e il futuro delle democrazie europee, quel luogo è Kyiv. Guardo con stupore — afferma in un altro passaggio — ai distinguo, ai silenzi che accompagnano il dibattito italiano sull'Ucraina".
A quanto si apprende da fonti parlamentari europee Pina Picierno, che si è dimessa dal PD, è pronta ad aderire a Renew Europe e al Partito democratico europeo di Sandro Gozi.

"Pina Picierno ha avuto il merito di affermare una verità che molti vedono e pochi hanno il coraggio di dire. Non si può essere europeisti a giorni alterni, atlantisti a convenienza o riformisti solo a parole. Abbiamo il dovere costruire una grande forza europea di governo, che unisca riformisti, liberali, democratici ed ecologisti pragmatici, per rispondere in modo credibile alle sfide del nostro tempo".

“The PD — she continues — has undergone a distortion due to inexorable slippages. The party we wanted at Lingotto no longer exists and it’s necessary to acknowledge this, but the reasons for its creation still exist.”

“If today there is a place where the credibility, strength, and future of European democracies are measured, that place is Kyiv. I look with astonishment at the distinctions and silences that accompany the Italian debate on Ukraine.”

According to sources in the European Parliament, Pina Picierno, who has resigned from the PD, is ready to join Renew Europe and the Sandro Gozi European Democratic Party.

“Pina Picierno has the merit of stating a truth that many see and few have the courage to say. You can’t be Europeanists on alternating days, Atlantists of convenience, or reformers only in words. We have a duty to build a great European governing force, which unites reformers, liberals, democrats, and pragmatic ecologists, to respond credibly to the challenges of our time.”

This was stated by Sandro Gozi, an MEP of Renew Europe and Secretary General of the European Democratic Party.

Gentile lettore, se intende dire che scendano in guerra, non accadrà. E sa perché? Perché anche se la prima potenza mondiale è guidata da uno “psicotico (psychotic) che deve essere aiutato” (definizione di Jim McGovern) e che “ha iniziato la guerra perché è ignorante e non capisce” (Guardian), per fortuna a capo della seconda e terza potenza ci sono uomini sensati, Putin e Xi. Di Putin ho scritto più volte che fa la guerra in guanti bianchi, basti vedere le cifre: in Ucraina 13.500 morti civili dopo 4 anni, a Gaza 20.000 dopo 4 settimane. Questa è la verità, ma non lo dica a nessuno, sennò le daranno del putiniano. Quanto alla Cina, la prudenza è un suo tratto culturale. Ha sempre preferito affacciarsi sul mondo coi commerci anziché la forza. Non per nulla il Sudest asiatico è storicamente costellato di minoranze cinesi, dalle Filippine (20 milioni, inclusi i sangue-misto) all’Indonesia (40 milioni) alla Malaysia e così via. Ciò detto, Xi sa che questo sarebbe un momento idoneo per attaccare Taiwan, con l’America che si svena in Iran ed è a corto di munizioni. Gli basterebbe dichiarare la sovranità su Taiwan e le isole minori di Taipei (una si trova ad appena 1,2 km dalla costa cinese). A quel punto il canale tra Cina e Taiwan, poco più largo di Hormuz, diverrebbe acqua interna cinese e Pechino potrebbe impedire il passaggio a chiunque, comprese le navi Usa, come fa l’Iran a Hormuz. Speriamo non accada o, nel caso, che qualunque reazione psychotic venga impedita dagli stessi militari Usa.

Dear reader, if you mean they will go to war, it won’t happen. And you know why? At that point the channel between China and Taiwan, just slightly wider than the Strait of Hormuz, would become inland Chinese water and Beijing could prevent anyone from passing through it, including US ships, as Iran does in Hormuz. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen or, in the event, that any psychotic reaction is prevented by the same US military.
