Remember when installing Java meant one download, one version, once choice? Back in the old days, you would head over to java.sun.com or later to Oracle website to download the installer, click through a few prompts, and you were done. Life was simple. Back then, there was typically one widely-adopted version of Java that would remain stable for years. You didn’t need to think much about version management because there wasn’t much to manage. Over the years, a lot has changed.
So i've installed #CachyOS on my main PC and must say that it feels really great. After over a decade on #Ubuntu and/or #Debian based distros, #Arch does feel mightily different, but the rolling release makes it feel up to date.
I did have to switch back to #Bash from the #Fish shell, as it is really hardwired in my brain, and #SDKMan just doesn't work as it seems to consist of only Bash functions. Why isn't it a script or a binary which makes it shell agnostic?
@sdkman any idea why 25-tem is the suggested default for macOS ARM but isn't included in the canidate list?
