I have two snowblowers. In the fall, I very responsibly had the local small engine shop do regular maintenance on both. It was expensive.

2-3 weeks ago, I grabbed the spare to show 25yo how to use one. It died after 20m. The other finished the job.

Today I went to clear another snowfall....and the second one won't start. And is leaking gas.

SOOOOOO me, Caroline and Almanzo had to shovel ~500ft of driveway by hand.

Been awhile since my last update so…. We are good. No power and almost no internet. Internet via our phones barely works. We got a good supply of non-perishable food at Walmart this morning and some cash. People haven’t completely lost their shit… yet. Traffic was a nightmare as a lot of lights are out and the other dumb animals either aren’t aware or don’t care about the rules around that.

Having to use instant coffee while we settle in as the coffee machines (grinder etc) are still packed away somewhere #coffee #roughingIt
We’re at our cabin for the weekend, and, of course, my husband has to use a pocket knife to cut the cellophane on his TV dinner. #RoughingIt

Late Boomer's Den

Day five without power due to #Ontario #IceStorm23 with the latest restoration estimate being 8pm tonight. I don’t have much faith in that since past estimates have come and gone many times. #powerless #OntarioHydro

On the brightside, it’s a beautiful day, the birds are performing a lovely cacophony, and my outdoor cooking skills are improving. #RoughingIt #nature
