Another activity I like to do on snowy days is take an egg carton, tear off the edges & top, rip these into tiny pieces & fill the cups with those pieces. Then I melt some wax on the wood stove and pour it in the cups to soak through the torn pieces. After this cools, I tear apart the cups and use them as fire starters. I do this over freezer paper so any wax that soaks through can be peeled off when solid and used next time. #recycle #reuse #repurpose #FireStarter #WoodStove #FirePlace #FirePit

My first repurposing project of the year. A flat sheet ripped in several places. I’m turning it into handkerchiefs. We’ll have 36 new hankies when I’m done and shouldn’t need to make more anytime soon. Or maybe ever 😅

We used the matching fitted sheet (which is still in good shape) to replace the worn sheet covering the bottom of the box springs. (It keeps the cat out of the box springs) I’m feeling productive.

I found an old GrapheneOS release which I just managed to install on my very old Pixel 3a.

Yes, I know the device is no longer supported and that it has security vulnerabilities. Yes, I know I can’t verify the release files. However, I am only planning to use the phone in my twenty years old campervan for offline OpenStreet maps and offline music player.

The car radio, while decent quality, is very difficult to use with no playlist support etc. That’s why I have been using the 3a with Ubuntu Touch, but GrapheneOS is so much more intuitive.

I bought this extra sturdy basket in mint condition (no frays, doesn’t wobble when set down) while thrifting at Goodwill recently. I had no idea what to do with it, but I think my mini teddy bear family is settling in nicely.

On my first thrifting expedition of the year I found this folding, formed steel chair for $5. I already have a folding formed steel mosaic table I can pair it with to make an outdoor reading nook in the summer.
The more I look at it, the more I love it. Right now it's next to the wood stove in the kitchen so I can read while keeping an eye on dinner. #recycle #reuse #repurpose #thrift #antique
