And this chiffon cake is very cute, we call it Bai-Bai cake. Bai-Bai is the action when we pray to the gods or spirits. You see it on Monthly First and Fifth in lunar calendar. You can find it at either traditional markets or super markets. The black ones are dried jujube, tastes sweet.

Here’s the setting of the washbasin, towel and water. You have to rinse the towel and leave it with an burning insense. It’s served to the sweating spirit to wash off the sweat as ghost month is in scorching summer.
You see some red cups and burning insense. That’s standard setting of a worship all the time, flowers are a plus!

It’s ghost month now in Taiwan. The concept is the same as Día de Los muertos or All Saints. But in Taiwan, it’s a whole July following the lunar calendar. It’s from 16th Aug to 14th Sep 2023. You see lots of the worship , PU-DU. and you can tell it’s for ghost month per the flags, the towel and the red washbasin. This is held by Bank of Taiwan.
