Red Flowering Currant (Ribes sanguineum) This plant has been pushing flowers since early January and is one of many of this species that we have at the house. Planted around our city lot, the flowering season is extended by sun exposure and micro climate that prolongs forage for insects and hummingbirds. This is on the south side of the house and is the first to bloom.

Meine eingebaute Pflanzenerkennung sagt: "Sieht irgendwie nach Johannisbeere aus, irgendwie aber auch nicht."
#FloraIncognita meint, es sei eine Alpen-Johannisbeere (lat. Ribes alpinum) (98%).
Ich hatte vermutet, sie könnte hier von selbst aufgegangen sein, fand dann aber so viele Sträucher am Wegesrand, dass es schon wieder nach Absicht aussieht.
