Today in #ChronicFatigue : I hit a week of exercising every day, without skipping any. And given it has been 15 months since I stopped work, and this is the first time, I feel the need to celebrate that. In this state it is so easy to do too much and knock yourself out for the day(s) after.

It does feel a bit strange to celebrate though, because exercise in this context is 10 minutes at 4.5 km/h on a treadmill. For those of you not used to metric measures, this is a ludicrously minimal amount of exertion; I normally walk at around 6 km/h and ten minutes is, well, ten minutes. And if I try and do this twice too close together (like walking to get an ice cream, sitting for half an hour, and walking back) I wreck my energy levels and sleep for the following several days. #PostViralFatigue #LongCovid

It feels like a lifetime since I last worked a morning shift (it was 13 days ago before I went down with the lurgy. )
I'm not sure how I am going to manage tomorrow. #PostViralFatigue

You're all up on the #Grimm tale about #DeathsMessengers.

& your throat infection returns or never left.
& you've only just got over RSV & before that Covid, & even before that flues with #PostViralFatigue.

But you've been confident these are all unrelated & any day now you'll be back to years long stretches of uninterupted good health.

& then suddenly for no apparent reason, you think, "It's just like the story".

& rush to find the #NigellaSativa & #Neem

Grimm 177: Death's Messengers

So NAV, the welfare authority in Norway, notes a huge increase in lost work days to diagnosis of fatigue in the past two years. Who'd have thought that might happen?!

But by all means, let's keep pretending it's just a cold and there's no reason to adopt ANY protective measures other than vaccines (and even those are not as frequent as in some other countries). Because it's so good for the economy to get back to "normal" asap.

(Sorry for the rant but I'm in my 9th month of 50% sick leave and I know I'm lucky to even have this as an option, yet it's so clear the degree of gaslighting going on, it's making me crazy).

This is odd. JCVI know #vaccines reduce COVID-19 death & illness in previously healthy, younger people, incl. #LongCovid. I had #PostViralFatigue from COVID & I know several people with CFS/ME: post-viral conditions are no joke.

They should develop annual nasal #vaccination targeted to recent SARS-CoV-2 variants, at a cost to those at lower risk, i.e. in line with flu for which I'm eligible for free annual jabs. I can't get a further SARS-CoV-2 vaccine!

COVID vaccines: why the UK needs to rethink its decision to stop boosters for young and healthy people

Targeting vaccine campaigns only at vulnerable groups in future will, paradoxically, leave them at greater risk.
