Ik dacht dat “chronisch zieken moeten oppassen met hitte” te maken had met dat je al ziek bent en dan sneller uitgedroogd raakt en zo. Mais non! Het gaat niet om het water. Het gaat niet om de warmte. Het gaat om de complete anarchie in het kansloze bosje neuronen dat ooit een prima zenuwstelsel vormde.

In some the difference is remarkable. One patient illustrated in Figure 2

shows near global hypometabolism particularly pronounced in the occipital lobes, correlating with the participant’s symptoms of cognitive dysfunction and fatigue with post exertional malaise

The findings showed significant cerebral hypometabolism in 29 patients with fatigue and post-exertional malaise (PEM), particularly in the left sensorimotor cortex (p=0.0253) and bilateral primary visual cortex (right: p=0.0096, left: p=0.0016),

and

our data shows that this cerebral hypometabolism persists 2 years post COVID-19 infection

The correlation of the symptom clusters and cerebral hypometabolism between LC and ME/CFS, particularly in those with PEM, suggests similar underlying pathophysiology.
