#CurrentlyReading The Five Senses by Michel Serres, and I find his emphasis on the skin and the sense of touch illuminating.
There is a truth of the body experienced by using one's skin that cannot be accessed through the contemplative and
discursive experience of the world. In this sense, a person working with their body is closer to "truth" than a contemplative Plato. Serres writes "No-one sees dancing shadows on the walls of the cave when a fire is burning inside."
