Ms. Que BanhOne of the best things my parents did, to boost my well-being, when I was really young & felt like a total outcast was to tell me that I'm their miracle child & was born because I have gifts for humanity. They told me that Creator wanted me to be challenged to be able to overcome a lot & become even stronger, more capable, more equipped, to help many people. They told me that if I was born to not make any difference in the world, Creator never would have gifted me with such an expansive brain & heart full of kindness & compassion. They told me that despite my disabilities, I am a champion of humanity & I was born to shift this world. I love how much my parents supported & believed in me.
I was literally my parents' miracle child. Mom was so stressed out that she had a miscarriage before me & 4 doctors told her that she is unable to give birth to any healthy child again. Those doctors were wrong. My brothers were both born with zero delivery issues & both grew up very strong/healthy. Only I was stricken with polio & then paralyzed for life from polio. I currently live with post polio, scoliosis & osteoporosis - still living life as passionately as possible.
I still support mandatory vaccinations, globally.
You can ask me why & I'll tell you, honestly & openly.
I've yet to see any political party in BC or federally that actually gives a true damn about #PeopleWithDisabilities. They all abandoned us. How every single political party dealt with covid(which never ended) was a big eye-opener. All of them went back to being #ableist again.
Not a single politician exists right now, that I'd feel really good, voting for. How can I? When they're ableists & don't truly care about disabled people like me? Political PR doesn't work on me. Seeing genuine #AntiAbleist actions & #solidarity would convince me & many other disabled folks in BC/Canada, a lot more.

FYI - almost anytime I go out in general public wearing face masks I get flurries of both - Why the hell are you still masking? and Where can I get your gaiter/face covering?
I always mask up. This isn’t new. This isn’t changing when almost no one else masks up & has decided to normalize #Covid.
People with disabilities are lockdowned from societal understanding because people who stopped masking up -> lack empathy & don't believe they'll ever be as disabled or more disabled. It's foolhardy, at best.

We met a year ago, at past volunteer work parties. I started working for LifeCycles, in August. My contract runs til end of March.

I'm super happy that former #BCGreens MLA opted to go into helping #Indigenous #Wsanec peoples - instead of trying to beat dead set for fascism-neoliberal asses with #BCNDP corporate lobbyist loyal sellouts.
Especially with people in that party who have #racism & ableism issues.
FYI - I asked a public direct question about how much unmasked Greens are normalizing #ableism & Emily - their new BC Greens leader - never responded. She has an active account here too. Their federal leader, Elizabeth May - is #disabled & chose to stop masking a long time ago too.
No political party in BC or Canada really care about #PeopleWithDisabilities.
