BEV demand is still weak. It is still the result of massive subsidies, not organic demand. We are being gaslit into thinking people really want them, when in reality it is hybrids and PHEVs.
The automaker is preparing to idle its Rouge Electric Vehicle Center in Dearborn, Mich., from the end of work Nov. 15 until Jan. 6. It's the latest downshift in plans for a once-hot product whose importance executives have likened to that of the Model T.
"The average real-world fuel consumption of #PHEVs in Europe is 4.0–4.4 L/100 km for private vehicles and 7.6–8.4 L/100 km for company cars compared to an average of 1.6–1.7 L/100 km in #WLTP type approval ... The average real-world electric driving share is about 45%–49% for private cars and about 11%–15% for company cars. ... In contrast, the official WLTP type-approval procedure assumes the share ... at around 70%–85%"

Hey here's an idea let's push #PHEVs which people seem to be far more receptive to and have huge efficiency and exhaust wins over pure gasoline cars instead of trying to do a straight-to-EV moonshot whose critical infrastructure relies on a highly distractable and fash-curious billionaire.

This is absolutely not true. Please do not buy #PHEVs - you’re locking in fossil fuel consumption and it will be worse for you and everyone else. Both from a financial perspective and a climate perspective.
Apparently plug-in hybrid cars (#PHEV) are better for us then their #EV counterparts. Makes sense! Smaller battery means less weight, less mining, etc. And the vast, vast majority of people don’t need to go more than 30-40 miles in one trip. Even then, you have a gas reserve to take you further. Huge reduction in fossil fuel use! 🙌 🙌 🙌 https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTLJKvmLu/ #MAPoli needs to step it up with the incentives and take this seriously. NOW! #climate #transportation
