More #laptop surgery tonight - lower buttons below #trackpad on #Thinkpad #P50 were goosed (left button stuck on, causing all sorts of strangeness, which even upset trackpoint and top buttons) - replaced with another set

A bear of a job as keyboard has to come out, as well as part of bezel around it (I was able to carry out the repair without removing whole thing), dozens of small screws, multiple small connectors must be disconnected and then there is just 4mm of ribbon cable to get into exactly the right spot (again had to use big LED desklamp and wear +1,00 spectacles to see as my contacts correct me for long distant vision, with age I have presbyopia )

At least the surgery was successful, as I'm typing this toot on the laptop with a working trackpad *and* trackpoint..

Replaced sub-par aftermarket #Thinkpad #P50 keyboard (keycaps not secure and regularly falling off, particularly the large shift key)

Had to wear +1,00 #spectacles to see the tiny ribbon cable connectors on the motherboard well enough to get the cable into position👴🏽 👓

This generic Chinese remanufactured one, bought from EBay and shipped from a random part of London seems quite decent (feels more solid and similar to the original)

Ok, I spent yesterday afternoon trying to get #RAID configured on my #lenovo #ThinkPad #P70 - to no success.

I found this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyCC1NGe8a8&t=36s of the similar #p50 and configuring #RAID which shows the #BIOS interface but my P70's only show the "non-raid physical discs" I do not have an option for RAID volumes. Note I have upgraded the BIOS to the most recent version on lenovo's web site. Any thoughts?

I have attached 2 #screenshots of what the BIOS displays - I'm trying to configure the RAID on the two 512GB #NVMe sticks.

BIOS via CD-image nach Jahren mal wieder aktualisiert, den ganzen Drecks-Intel-AMT Rotz und andere TPM-Scheiße deaktiviert und schon startet es nicht nur brav ohne Oopsis und sinnfreie Warterei auf Kram den privat kein Schwein braucht, sondern fährt auch wieder brav runter und zwar richtig und nicht nur so zombiemäßig mit leuchtender Tastatur und weiß der Geier was sonst noch angeschaltet blieb seit irgend einem Intel Management Update.
