From the #FieldSurveying, I will be utilizing the newly written up steps heuristic to do the post-processing.

The field note schema is

```
step <count> <?interval> <?direction> <?incline>
```

and there are two conventions: standalone (quick) or interval (slow).

Each of the conventions has a tradeoff on time vs details.

What to do when you are waiting for your friends to run pass during their #UltraTrail run. Well, I took the opportunity to #MicroMapping 2 km worth of `highway=steps` on the north side of the #WildenKaiser #mountains and the equivalent amount of `barrier=*` on the south end.

Good thing that I did the #OpenStreetMap surveying before being cooked at 36°C in the #Alps.

TIL: Oh, man ist gar nicht nur auf die Satellitenbilder von Microsoft beschränkt. Es gibt auch ArcGIS-Bilder der Welt, die sich in #Osmand als Under- oder Overlaykarten verwenden lassen.

OsmAnd~ ist eine großartige Navigations-App, die neben ein paar Dingen, die man sich nicht wünscht, fast alles kann was man sich wünscht. OsmAnd~ kennt in seinen Erweiterungsmöglichkeiten kaum Grenzen, so kann man statt oder neben der direkt über OsmAnd heruntergeladenen Kartendaten auch externe Karten verwenden.
