I'm so tired of the crap going on due to closed #mobile computing, and even linux phones are never that open/upgradeable, that all I want is that someone would make an open low-power board that would have:
- 1 SODIMM;
- 1 M.2 NVMe (or maybe an eMMC for lower power/size?);
- 1 processor module (in whatever reusable connector);
- 1 M.2 whatever LTE/5G module
- 1 open MCU (RPI2040?)
- 3 USB-C ports: USB3.0 (maybe with PD out), USB3.0 (with PD in) and AltDisplay.
- a couple of buttons and a mini OLED display
One could attach a keyboard, a monitor and some power source and have a computer. With a small powerbank we could have a dumb phone (earbuds are ubiquitous now).
But most importantly, we could ditch the fuck out of smartphones and apps that are only good for useless consumption and #surveillance/ being controlled (everytime I want to do productivity on my phone I'm better off turning on a computer and using a fucking keyboard anyway!).
Am I alone in this? What do you think @mntmn?
