AndyJust finished reading #TheTroop by #NickCutter, a recommendation from here and, golly, does it deliver.
It works as a cross between, say, Lord of the Flies and early Cronenberg. The result is that it is savage, tense, & admirably nasty.
𖤐 𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝕾𝖜𝖎𝖋𝖙𝖎𝖊 𝕭𝖚𝖙𝖈𝖍𝖊𝖗 𖤐@beyondperil Both #IT and #TheStand were really good. #Dreamcatcher was good too, but I don’t think I finished it.
Also, I should mention #TheTroop, by #NickCutter. That book is incredible, but TW for animal cruelty. I’ve not read/listened to #TheDeep yet, but it’s supposed to be good too.
Anything by #NeilGaiman and the #HarryPotter (Jim Dale version, not Stephen Fry) series is great too, but not #Horror, obviously.

I’ve just finished #reading #TheTroop by #NickCutter. This book is just fantastic! It took me entirely too long to get started on this one and longer than it should’ve to actually finish it, but what an excellent, gross #HorrorBook!
Now I’m on to a different type of #extreme in my next read, which is #Lolita, by #VladimirNabokov. I guess this one is more #ExtremeRomance than #ExtremeHorror. I’m very much looking forward to this #controversial #taboo #novel.
After having this one on my #ReadingList for the last few years, I am FINALLY going to start on #NickCutter’s #TheTroop!
I’ve started listening to the #audiobook a couple of times, but I don’t seem to have much capability of paying attention to those and really have no idea what I listened to. My wife ordered me the #paperback for my birthday and I’m excited to finally read this one!

#CormacMcCarthy’s lack of punctuation style in #TheRoad is strange to me and I’m not quite sure why it’s a thing. It does distract me, but it’s not game-breaking or anything. I assume #BloodMeridian will be the same way, but this will not be my next read. I do already own it and it will eventually be read, but there’s others I want to read first, starting with #NickCutter’s #TheTroop, which has been on my reading list for years!
