A few images of cornflower in the meadows at one of my local woods.

It's a newly planted woodland where 600k native trees were planted by volunteers on farmland to reconnect 5 relatively small ancient woods.

Species that were said to be extinct in Herts are now thriving there, with more than 80 bird & 29 butterfly species recorded to date. It's a great example of how quickly nature can recover with the right ingredients.

It's now 15yrs old. ♥️
