I'm really appreciative of this webinar that's come out during National Reconciliation Week - Adam Goodes and Prof Megan Davis talking truth-telling, tokenism, allyship and structural change.
"Allyship is a practice, not a destination" is such an important reminder

Bluesky Social(1/3) #Decolonisation is a core pillar of #solarpunk and, as allies, we stand in solidarity with all First Nations peoples of Australia. At Sci_Burst we are taking small but meaningful steps to amplify the world’s longest continuing cultures and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the world’s first scientists and first science communicators.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) is being held from 27th of May until the 3rd of June and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
Now more than ever, the work continues. In treaty making, in truth-telling, in understanding our history, in education, and in tackling racism. We need connection. We need respect. We need action. Now is the time for change.
We need to walk shoulder to shoulder on this reconciliation journey together to make this nation a better place for all !

Toot.CatDid you know that Northern #Indigenous #Australian #Mythology has its own #fairy legend?
#Aboriginal people from Arnhem Land believe in a creature called a Mimi.
They are said to have preceded #humans & created the first #rock #paintings.
Mimis taught the skill to the first people, along with how to #hunt kangaroo.
These spirits are VERY thin & have fragile bones, & so to avoid breaking in half when it’s windy, they hide in rock crevices.
