Last night we finished watching Japanese light drama Three Star Bar on SBS.

It's a lovely heart-warming show. Sweet and short. Very twee. Cheezy. Sappy. A tear jerker at times. Solving one personal drama at a time, across a bar.

Canned food, literally and as a metaphor. Likewise, cocktails.

Lovely.

Recently finished watching A Spy Among Friends, a near-to-true spy drama on SBS.

Wow, top notch spy drama with brilliant actors. Damian Lewis, Guy Pierce, Anna Maxwell Martin telling a story about the Kim Philby MI6 defection to Moscow.

Slow drama, built carefully to maintain intrigue and maximum distrust right up until the end. 12/10 good TV, Brent.

Recently finished watching Juliet, a Belgian crime show on SBS. Detective juggles solving crimes in the home town she'd left behind, and looking after her niece in her dead father's house by the grey-skies seaside.

In short, Belgian noir with family complications.

Well worth the time, good drama.

Just watched 'One Cut of the Dead', a Japanese zombie-comedy film I'd never heard of before, that popped up in my recommends and I decided to take a punt on.

Definitely the right choice - it is a thing of creative and cinematic joy. I wrote a few words about it - have a quick read below (there's no spoilers) then get on it.

The Kodi app for SBS On Demand by Aussie Addons has been broken since SBS removed version 3 of their API. Thankfully, the fabulous Matt Huisman has taken on the challenge and has already released a usable add-on for Kodi!

Matt already had apps for 10play, 7plus, 9now. So great that he's added SBS!

To install: add the SlyGuy repository per the instructions:

Then add the SBS add-on from the SlyGuy repository.

NB: any favourites you have for SBS shows using the old add-on won't work, you'll need note them down and search in the new app to get them again.
