Nevada governor's race shaping up as a marquee battle in a state carried by Trump

Nevada Democratic Attorney General Aaron Ford says he will challenge Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo next year. Ford’s announcement sets the stage for what's expected to be a highly competitive fight in a state narrowly divided between Democrats and Republicans. The contest is expected to draw national attention to a state carried by President Donald Trump in 2024. Ford says Nevadans are suffering under the crushing cost of housing, prescription drugs and other expenses in an economy where many just struggle to stay afloat. The Better Nevada PAC — which supports Lombardo — calls Ford a radical pushing a woke agenda.
