Replacing the door gasket on a front-loader washing machine is NOT as easy as the folks on YouTube say.

For one, we have a small 4kg Camec front-loader in the motorhome.

The wire-and-spring system that every other manufacturer uses to hold the outer and inner of the gasket isn't in play here; we have a nice plastic clip around the outer, cool, and a wire and 2 x nut & bolt arrangement on the inner — not cool. Not cool at all. One simply cannot get a hand inside the guts of the machine to undo them, let alone do them back up.

Getting the old gasket off was easy — the old one was rooted so I just cut it off — but the small size makes getting the new one on over the lip of the tub surround bloody hard work. It's like trying to pry a tyre onto a small wheel when you can't see the wheel and can only use two fingers.

Seriously, at this point I would consider buying a new one if they didn't cost around $AU1,000.
